Australian Wedding Photographer in Italy: Elisabetta & Giuseppe
As an Australian wedding photographer, I love getting to travel for weddings across Italy. The culture, the food, the people, the landscape. The list doesn’t end. It’s a feel you just cannot 100% recreate. The real thing is just that much better.
Elisabetta & Giuseppe’s summer wedding near Lake Como was one of the best yet. They married at Phi Hotel Piajo, in the hills above Bergamo, about 40 minutes from Lake Como itself. These two were so lovely, an Italian couple who found my Instagram. They flew me and my partner Lydia over to capture their wedding. Late nights, incredible people, and a dance floor that puts Australian weddings to shame.
Planning a Wedding in Italy as an Australian Couple
I’ve noticed more and more Australian couples reaching out about their destination weddings in Italy. Planning a wedding on the other side of the world comes with its own difficulties. Usually though, Australians getting married in Italy keep things simple. They let the venues and the landscape speak for themselves, why else would you be in Italy!
From my side, it just works. I know how Italian venues run, and I know the pace of the day. I still bring the same eye I’d bring to a wedding at home.
